Equine Bowen Therapy

What is it?

Equine Bowen Therapy is an effective, gentle, 'hands on' therapy which works with the muscles and soft tissues (or fascia) of the body stimulating the body's own healing mechanism affecting the whole body, not just parts of it.

How does it work?

Using the hands, vibrations are triggered within the body which facilitates the release of toxins from within the body which may be producing 'blockages' to the flow of energy and consequently generating dis-ease.

These vibrations seek out the root cause of the problem rather than just dealing with the symptoms.

Once the natural flow and balance has been restored to the body this allows all the systems of the body to function more efficiently.

Additionally, it often accelerates the healing process.

Horses usually become really relaxed and are very receptive to the treatment as there is no placebo effect.

What does a treatment entail?

A treatment involves 3 x sessions spaced 5 - 10 days apart.

After the initial treatment advice will be given as to whether any further treatments are required.

Monthly sessions may be recommended, for prevention or maintenance, depending on the condition or ailment being treated.

Equine Bowen therapy is suitable for all horses regardless of age, size, breed, type of work or discipline being undertaken, and for all types of conditions/ ailments.

NB: Your veterinarian MUST be informed of your horse being treated with Equine Bowen therapy as it is illegal to treat any animal without your vet's permission.
